Saturday October 17th
The Big Day has arrived. Lee Atkins from Island Inflatables arrived with his big van. Gavin Butler, the builder, dismantled the skeleton of the hut into sections. The sun was shining, the wind had dropped and everything was in our favour for a smooth move of the hut to plot 526.
The hut base was first to be off loaded. With a person on each side it was lowered into place, each corner fitting into the angle Irons with almost surgical precision.
Hats off to you Gavin, sheer perfection!
Next up were the sides, then the roof and finally the day ended with the waterproof membrane being secured in place.
Gavin and his small team worked so hard. What they achieved in one day was immense.
My own achievement was to take photos and marvel at the amazing autumn skies over the water - it was a hard job, but someone had to do it!!
